Kris Lake

Director of Operations- Warsaw, Indiana

Kris Lake is the Director of Operations for Kensington Digital Media of Indiana and Tennessee, overseeing programming for all Kensington stations.

He has been in radio since the mid-90's. As a child, he got a tour of the local radio station in his hometown of Sandwich, Illinois. Kris instantly fell in love with the idea of working professionally in radio.

He began as a part-time weekender at that same local radio station (WSPY-FM) until he graduated high school. Soon after, he found himself begging that same station for a full-time job. After several months of meeting with ownership, he was named Sports & Information Director and served in that role for several years while attending the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in Chicago, IL.

In 2002, Kris became the Morning Show Host of WSQR-AM (Oldies) in Sycamore, Illinois and served as the station's Production Director.  Over the next four years, Kris would hold positions at Y102 (WBYR-FM Big Rapids, Michigan) and Clear Channel Radio (Chicago, IL).

In 2007, Kris accepted a job with NRG Media in Ottawa, Illinois as Afternoon Host on WCMY-AM (News/Talk), mid-day host on WRKX-FM (Classic Hits) and Creative Services Director; a position he would hold for 6 years. During his time in Ottawa, Kris met and married his wife, Danielle.

Kris had always been interested in live theatre, and had often appeared on-stage and behind the scenes with various theatre groups on a volunteer basis. In April of 2013, he chose to leave radio and accept a position as the President and Creative Director with PR Productions, Inc. of Yorkville, IL. Kris created multiple full-scale theatrical productions in performance venues across Illinois.

After a very short time, the theater company ceased all operations and left Kris searching for his next adventure. Realizing full-time theatre would be difficult to succeed at, he chose to get back into radio, his first true professional interest.

He was hired in December 2013 as Morning Show Co-Host on WRSW-FM (Warsaw, IN). Soon after, he added Program Director responsibilities to his position with Kensington Media, later the Operations Manager for the Warsaw cluster.

In 2021, he was named Director of Operations for the company, and was charged with overseeing programming for all Kensington stations. He still hosts the Lake City Morning show on 107.3 WRSW-FM (Classic Hits) each weekday morning, in addition to his other duties with the company.

Kris lives in Warsaw, IN with his wife, Danielle, and their three furry kids, Lilo the dog, and two cats Hunter and Ember.
